CVRDL Boot Camp - hosted by SSRG Saturday 11th June
Those who are lucky enough to be attending this event should have the details.  If you missed it Sun State Roller Girls are holding a Boot Camp to be hosted by Clarence Valley Roller Derby League in Yamba.
These boot camps are open to all leagues and provided you pay the fee and there are spots left, any level Skater, Ref or NSO is welcome to attend.  These events are jam packed with skills, drills and theory to help you progress in the sport and are therefore beneficial to attend for individuals and leagues. If you are interested email goldcoastrollerderby@gmail.com and we will pass on your details.  If you can’t make this one, next time one of these events is made available jump on it and gain valuable experience.

TREASURERS NOTE
CONGRATS!!
Your all doing a sterling job of paying your $40 monthly fees so nice work! The best time to sign your attendance and pay your money is when you arrive and before you jump on the track. Please see Cougarrr or RubySlitter for membership or fees enquiries.

COMMUNICATIONS
NSO POSITIONS
If you haven’t already taken on an NSO (Non Skating Official Position) this year please put your hand up to help out with the next Bout BEFORE you have to be asked! It is so important we all use these positions to gain a better understanding of rules and game play.
Cannibella and Painadoll are in charge of recruitment so please contact to them to add your name to the list.

ATTENDANCE
So by now everybody is aware of the 80% attendance guidelines we have in place, we just need to clarify the reasons behind this expectation.  Ideally we would love to have you all turn up for every training session, skills skate and social skate event, however we realise that due to family, work and social commitments, this isn’t always possible. Please do your best to attend as many training sessions as you can as practice makes perfect! Leading up to gradings and bouts it is especially important you attend sessions. This will ensure your fitness, bouting level and teamwork are all up to muster before hitting the track with your fellow players.

Recently we have had to rely on filling gaps in our bouting teams with skaters who have not attended as many training sessions as we would like. However with our league rapidly growing and a whole batch of Derby Divas getting ready to step up to the plate, this will soon be a thing of the past.  We realise it has been a confusing issue for some and once we have the luxury to pick and choose an “A” and “B” Grade team, this will no longer be a topic of concern.

THANK YOU ALL for your patience and understanding with changes to our schedule and structure.
We are ALWAYS learning, growing and moving forward to make GCRD a better league for us all.

Remember this is YOUR league, Live it, Love it and Help it Grow!
